redefinition & rediscovery
1 Peter 1:6-7
"So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.”
Her weaknesses can become her strengths.
And though she has scars, and may be tempted to cover up
She will learn to embrace them
To show what a gracious God can do
Her scars make her human
They cause her to be relatable
But they also show her what pain can do
Because tears sometimes teach lessons
Words may never be able to articulate
In some ways, she is still healing
From wounds of the past
But these open wounds will soon transform into dark marks
That will paint a picture
Onto the canvas of her skin
And tell a story of hope.
God will be what she needs
He will be her strength when she is weary
He will be her peace
He will be her guide when she feels lost,
God Himself will be her deliverance.
1 Peter 2:9
”But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.”
She is just another face
Until you know her story
Beyond the facade lies foundational truths
That breed strength
He sees strength in her.
In her eyes lie resilience behind the pain
She is going to look better than how they left her.
”We have freedom now, because Christ made us free. So stand strong in that freedom. Don't go back into slavery again.”
Hope is never out of reach
When the one who accompanies her
Is the One who takes strides upon waters
Hope is never far from her reach
Because her eyes are fixed on promises kept
Over and over again.
Breathing easy and breathing deep,
Growth will take time,
But in time
Healing will happen,
And time will tell the story of inevitable breakthroughs.
”I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.”
She is not too much for God.
All of it serves a purpose.
So when all that is seen are broken pieces
She will know that there is still a plan being played out
In this fight
Grace always wins.
And so she will learn,
She will change,
And she will grow.
”Great blessings belong to those who don’t listen to evil advice, who don’t live like sinners, and who don’t join those who make fun of God. Instead, they love the Lord’s teachings and think about them day and night. So they grow strong, like a tree planted by a stream— a tree that produces fruit when it should and has leaves that never fall. Everything they do is successful.”
She will continue to flourish and bloom unapologetically as a beautiful masterpiece, still in the making. And it won't matter what the other voices say, All that will matter is what she chooses to listen to. Because the Father has been continually whispering beautiful symphonies over her, so she will tune in and choose to embrace beauty in the imperfect. Allow for personhood to demonstrate what true beauty looks like. Show the things that flawless facades never will. She will decide to be one who is kind, even though the world is ugly; determined to make it beautiful, one soul at a time. And take life one day at a time, because so much lies ahead.
